Singapore ZoukOut 2013 is an annual dance music festival in the international metropolitan city of Singapore in South East Asia. It’s undoubtedly one of Asia’s biggest music dance festivals, organized by Club Singapore. This engaging event has won the Singapore Tourism Board’s “Best Leisure Event Experience” award three times, making it a great reason for a trip to this exciting city. Each year, more than 20,000 attendees make their way to the island to the festival, ready to party all night and then do it again the next day.
ZoukOut is known by the motto: “One World, One Music, One Tribe, One Dance.” A statement that implies everyone, no matter their history or where their from, is welcome to join the festival.
Zoukout 2013 happens on December 13 and 14th 2013. If you’re planning on going, the earlier you buy tickets the better – you’ll have access to incredible discounts that you won’t get later on.
It’s also a good idea to book Singapore accommodation early. Zouk Out takes place in the Sentosa district of Singapore – it’s actually an island that’s a popular beach destination for Singaporeans and tourists alike. ZoukOut takes place on Siloso Beach in Sentosa. (See map of the area). Nearby hotels include Siloso Beach Resort
There’s also the huge casino resort Resorts World Sentosa and several other Sentosa hotel and resort choices. You can of course also stay in central Singapore, where there is a wide variety of hotels and hostels to choose from.
The word “Zouk” means Club, but the festival is so much more than that. It’s a dance party extravaganza where people from all over the world come to have an incredible time. The club organizes dazzling displays of pyrotechnics and enviable stage acts.
DJs that have performed at ZoukOut include Paul Van Dyk, 2ManyDJS, Masters at Work, Gilles Peterson, Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Peter Kruder, James Lavelle, Armin Van Buuren and Stereo MCs. More local flair can be found with the acts from resident DJs such as DJ Aldrin, djB and Andrew Chow.
Zouk Night Club started in March of 1991 and over the course of ten years has become one of the most famous clubs in the world. in 2000., the festival began, with the central aim of the club being to showcase Asian dance and music culture for the rest of the world. They created a setting which would attract international club goers. With artistic and exceptional venues, high standards, and quality music, they knew it would be irresistible and it was!
Zouk’s vision was to teach the people of Singapore about a new phenomenon called “House Music.” They had no way of knowing how much of a success they were going to be. They introduced a new blend of music called “Mambo Jambo,” a blend of House Music and hits from the 70′s and 80′s. It quickly became one of the highlights of the week for the club. Each year for the festival, Mambo Jambo night has become the most famous night of them all.
With the size of the event, however, the club was bursting to capacity. By the mid-2000′s ZoukOut was taken outside, making this dance extravaganza one of the biggest outdoor beach parties in Asia. The event is typically held at one of the beaches on Sentosa island, one of the hotbeds for celebrity activity. It is a place to see and be seen, and certainly something you won’t want to miss if in the area.
To be a “Zouk clubber” has taken on an identity all it’s own. It means that you’ve partied with the best, have adapted to a metropolitan idea of clubbing. Yet, despite it subculture status, it’s not exclusive. Everybody is welcome to come to ZoukOut and enjoy the trendy nature of this annual display.
Plus, the club offers great deals on a nightly basis, even more reason to leave your hotel and ZoukOut.
